About Design

Isabel Rojo, a furniture designer who founded her studio, About Design, in Valencia in 2018. Her young studio strives to achieve the perfect balance between beauty and trend.

Each creation for Zavotti serves as a reflection of its inspiration and passion, distilling the very essence of the brand and the artist’s individuality.

“My goal with my projects is to pamper my user, enveloping them in natural materials such as solid ash wood and handmade woven fibers, and transporting them to a place where life is peaceful and quiet.”

Outlier is a creative studio that combines industrial design, art direction, and photography. A team of designers with unique philosophies and skills work together to create harmonious and rigorous projects.

Their focus is centered on admiration for matter and detail, exploring natural forms to inspire designs for furniture, lighting, and textiles.

This team has collaborated with Zavotti on numerous occasions, bringing a style that combines curves, unions, and details to create unique and sensitive pieces, reflecting the artisanal talent of its members. Their inspirations arise from the Mediterranean, but they are also influenced by Japanese architecture.

The artist on the Vega collection: “The warmth of the Mediterranean defines the envelopment of this piece, just as its natural finishes reflect traditional craftsmanship.”

Rodrigo Torres

Rodrigo Torres is a Colombian-Italian designer, graduated from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University and the Domus Academy

Specialized in product design, he founded his studio in 2004 and has collaborated on numerous international projects of great value, earning him numerous awards: Design Award, Red Dot Award, Spark Design Award, Good Design Award, Cooper Hewitt National Design Awards, Architectural Record, and International Design Awards.

This artist combines artisanal techniques and modern structures to create outdoor furniture with organic forms and comfortable designs. His Colombian heritage is deeply reflected in his work, as it has inspired him in his creations for Zavotti, from the material contrasts present in pre-Columbian ceremonial objects to the expressiveness found in ancient Colombian artisanal techniques.

“For me, the Maku collection represents authenticity, while Xué refers to what is ancestral,” says Rodrigo.

Jorge Diego Etienne

A talented Mexican industrial designer, he has developed a global perspective on design through his experience at Feiz Design Studio, workshops with leading companies, and courses at renowned design schools such as Central Saint Martins in London, Domus Academy in Milan, and Parsons, The New School of Design in New York.

Upon his return to Mexico, he founded his own design studio in Monterrey, whose philosophy is centered on creating design products that incorporate themselves into daily life. He has designed for local and international brands, showcasing his work in exhibitions around the world.

“The starting point of my designs for Zavotti is always the intersection of European minimalism and honesty; with the excitement of vibrant, daring, and transcendent nuances that define Mexican design. Each design was created by visualizing it on a Mexican beach, how people enjoy those moments. That’s why each piece is named after a beach in the country.” – Jde.

Johanna Jacobson Backman

He grew up in a family that manufactured heavy industrial production machinery and soon showed his interest in production processes. After completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in design, he launched his own studio, focused on product design. A multidisciplinary space that also offers branding services and creative direction for companies that want to go beyond traditional ways of building a brand.

Along with his team, he founded his design studio bearing his name: Víctor Alemán Studio. His innovative spirit has led him to capture his unique style in internationally acclaimed products, including the Red Dot Luminary Award, one of the most important design awards in the world.

Eli Gutiérrez

Eli Gutiérrez is a Valencian designer, recognized at the DELTA Awards by NUANCE FR in/out (Gancedo) in 2022.

After completing her studies, she moved to London to pursue a master’s degree in Product Design at the Royal College of Art. Following this experience, she relocated to Milan, where she worked at Patricia Urquiola’s studio, and subsequently moved to Paris to work with Philippe Starck and India Mahdavi.

In 2016, she founded her own design studio in Valencia, drawing inspiration from the perfect combination of craftsmanship and new technologies.

In 2023, she designed the RAYURE collection for Zavotti, characterized by organic forms and natural references.

“I drew inspiration from a summer day, when the Mediterranean light filters through the window and you think about capturing that moment,” – says the Valencian designer.
